So we started back on the house stuff. First thing, I needed the washer and dryer back so we had to fix up the utility room. Hub said he didn't want to match the off-white paint, so he got WHITE! paint. We painted the whole utility room WHITE! and some baseboards also, which hub sliced up in his new miter box. I asked him why it was called that, and he didn't know. I am curious.
Then hub hung some nice wire shelves in said utility room, so we can use the ooky particle-board cupboards that came with it as a base for the big fish tank, which I have pretty much decided to try my hand at. He also made a short little hanger bar so I can hang up nice shirts. It looks really good now, even though it's very WHITE!
Next we primed the wall in the dining room, soon to be the mellow room. We then bought some very green paint that we weren't sure about. On the paint chip it seemed to have a lot of yellow in it, and we thought about getting a green with more blue in it. If this link works, we were vacillating between Emerald Isle and Racing Green. (For the record, I want a job where I get to come up with paint color names.) We decided on the Emerald Isle, and it turned out perfect. It is a very green green, without the slightest bit of extra blue or yellow- just as we had hoped.
Next, I want to paint my computer room. I picked Ribbon Dance, though I think I might have been hoping for something with a little more purple in it, and a little darker. But we'll see how it turns out. Depending on how pooped I am I may prime it tonight.
Other stuff going on- we had a CoG meeting Saturday which went fine. Colin, Bean, and Bob came over for Adult Swim last night which was tons of fun, though they were all covered with chiggers from some rave or other that they went to. I have never had chiggers, and after hearing described what they actually do, I would be horrified to the point of self-injury if I ever did get them. Ugh.
