I mentioned the fact that I was hoping to do the d&c under local anaesthesia to my dad, and he thinks I am totally insane. He said if they're going to mess with "Mr.Bill" (yes, he said that) he didn't want to be any sort of aware of it. I asked hubby if he would want to have general if he had a vasectomy, and he said yes- he would otherwise be too wound up.
I don't like general anesthesia. I saw 'Coma' when I was young, and it just creeps me out. Plus, when I had the tubal ligation, the Versed killed a large chunk of memory. I apparently had a long conversation with the doctor that I do not remember to this day. I suppose when it comes to my body I'm sort of a control freak. I just like being able to watch what's going on; I don't like pain, but I like being at least marginally aware. I'm one of those people that watches when the needle goes in. Also the stuff makes me really nauseous.
So, am I a freak? What would you do?
