I was not finding any white gold necklaces online for my nice pendant that I felt comfortable buying. I decided to hit the mall and see what I could find there. I checked several different jewelry stores and was treated pleasantly at most of them despite my very informal attire (Kay Jewelers was an exception- they can kiss my ass). But they did not have exactly what I wanted. I also checked the department stores... I was treated very nicely by a lady at Macy's, of all places. And they had something that wasn't exactly what I wanted (snake chain) but was very close (foxtail chain) and was at a good price, even better if I opened an account. So, I kissed all my street cred goodbye and got a Macy's credit card.
Since the discount was for anything I purchased that day (or the day after- so if you have a strong need to get something from Macy's, let me know by tomorrow) and I could stand to pick up some jeans since some of the ones I have are getting way too baggy on me, I picked up a couple of pairs of jeans, a big fuzzy sweater that was on sale and a nice shirt in case I ever decide I want to dress up for something.
By the way, having looked at jewelry at close to a dozen places today, what is it with gold charms that look like flip-flops? I cannot imagine someone paying upwards of $200 to get a tiny gold flip-flop pendant. But they were at just about every store we looked. WTF?
