I know everyone wants to hear about Star Wars, but first you have to put up with the undignified medical procedures report first.

They wanted me to drink all that water, it turns out, so that the full bladder props my uterus up at a nice angle for the external sonogram to look at (the thing they roll over your belly). It was a nice thought, but I drank until I thought I would explode, and according to the evil nurse my bladder wasn't even very full, so they went ahead and did the internal method. At least I got to empty my bladder before they did it; since I was expecting it anyway I would've just preferred to skip the water torture and get it over with. So she gets what looked like a smooth foot-long dildo, and went after it. They let hub stay with me for this, and he just stood next to the bed and held my hand. The evil nurse kept the monitor turned so I couldn't see it, and when I asked her if she saw anything noteworthy, she snapped "The doctors decide that, that's why they are paid the big bucks." Hub said it was just light and dark blobs. Bleh. But it wasn't painful in the least. I suppose I should count my blessings.

Then for the mmammmogramm. Hub had to leave, since it involved radiation. I walked into a room and there was a little shelf about the size of a large textbook or a Trapper Keeper, if anyone remembers those. This shelf contained the film. I layed my breast on it, leaned into it to get as much meat in the picture as possible, then the other nurse cranked another shelf (about the same size but clear plastic) like a vise down to squash the breast as flat as possible; then she asked me to inhale and exhale, and she cranked it down another couple of notches. It was excruciatingly painful, and they did 5 pics. One horizontal squash for each breast, then one vertical squash for each breast, and a repeat for one that didn't turn out well. She says I probably won't have to have another until I'm 40 unless they find something, of course. And she said part of why this was so painful for me was because my breasts were very firm and 'dense.' Well, that's nice, I guess. I find out the results in 3 weeks or so.

Oh, and the results from the Pap, bloodtests, and such came back. Everything looked fine. The core sample was fine, but they didn't have enough endometrial cells to tell anything- I supposed that this was because my endometrial ablation didn't leave me with a significant amount, and the nurse allowed as to how that was probably the case.
