I heard some Fleetwood Mac song on the radio the other day and thought "I should get some of their mp3s." So I went to the iTunes store and they had a greatest hits album, and I recognized all the songs, and so I bought it. I had no songs by them before, which is weird because I have a pretty large mix of stuff which is largely pop rock from the last 30 years. How I missed them who knows. I don't love them, but the songs all make me smile. So, yay. Maybe I'll dig up some Stevie Nicks too.
When I think of Stevie Nicks I think of her as "the person my best friend in high school had a huge crush on, but didn't like to talk about it because she was afraid we'd all figure out she was a lesbian." I even remember sitting in a car with my friend and she demanding that I list male rock stars she could latch onto so people wouldn't think she was... you know... that way. Wow, I am amazed at how clueless I was back then. I can only say in my defense that it was just outside of my realm of experience. Also to my credit, when she finally told me she was That Way, I recall my reaction being something along the lines of "oh, okay" though I could tell she was expecting something worse. Well, fuck, we were living in Kerrville, who could blame her.

Yeah, I didn't know doodly about Fleetwood Mac, then one day about 12 years ago when we were playing D&D with whassname and his wife, they played the greatest hits album, and on EVERY song, I was like, "That's them? They did that song too? I like all of these songs!"
