Bleeeeeccch. I still feel like hammered crap. But I came to work because I'm a trooper and all- everyone notice that? Amanda says I sound like I've been a chronic smoker. I may yet puss out and go home. I do know that I'm not going to take no damn Nyquil anymore, at least not when I'm about to go to sleep. I have weird dreams, and wake up several times so completely disoriented I briefly have no idea where I am or what's going on. That's pretty uncool.
I've had the gamut of home nurses with my calls today. I just took one about a nurse who took this disabled lady's car and sold it on the internet for $300 bucks. She drove the lady down to the tow yard to get it, then said the lady'd better give her the title or she'd have to walk home. That's also uncool.
On the other hand, in the 'heartwarming tales to uplift the spirit' category we have a home nurse call this morning. She lived in New Orleans, and when it hit the fan she went to her client's home, an 88yo bed-ridden lady. No one had come for her, and the nurse couldn't get ahold of the lady's sister. So she bundled the lady up and went to a beach house in Galveston. She can't take care of the lady anymore because she can't afford the beach house and her own house is gone, so she called us. "You'll put her somewhere nice, won't you?" she begged. She is very cool.
