It's a sad day when you lose a member of your personal pantheon... I removed Dennis Miller from my 'Interests'. I didn't have HBO and thus access to any of his recent stuff- so I've liked him based on his SNL stuff, his record, and his talk show that he had on one of the networks several years ago. But since we have free HBO I've checked out 2 of his shows- he's flipped. He used to be a smart-ass free-thinking kinda Libertarian type, but now he seems like a Republican idiot. Which is not to say all Republicans are idiots, but I'm talking about an idiot with Republican leanings. He had some lady who is an ACLU lawyer on who is griping about the executive branch of government taking too much power; torturing and detaining people without charging them, etc. DM was saying that it seemed we either support Bush unquestioningly or we invite all those terrorists over here and have a big hug-fest. I can't begin to list all the problems I have with this statement. Suffice it to say he didn't listen at all to her assertion that perhaps Bush shouldn't have carte-blanche to just do whatever the hell he wants... he couldn't even see that. I'm so disappointed.
