Pizza and minty ice cream was a success. The pizza involved heavy use of roasted garlic, of which I always approve. Hub was disappointed in the ice cream because the mint turned a little brown and it gave the ice cream an odd color. I didn't find it unappealing in the least, and I thought it tasted like a wonderful cup of spearmint tea in ice cream form. Amanda came over to share the bounty and brought some garishly colored chocolate cookies that complimented the ice cream quite nicely. Except for the colors, it seemed like a nice little British tea party. We watched a couple of episodes of Angel season five ("the difference is otter!") and were well-pleased. Spike is back, and who doesn't like Spike? Not me. I don't not like Spike! Okay, now I need to lie down.
Actually I'm feeling sort of sad and crabby today. I don't think I slept well. I'm trying not to tense up in anticipation of going to visit my parents this weekend. Hub and Dad will go off shooting guns while I guess I stay home and entertain the women-folk. Ugh. Why is this so hard?
In more cheerful news, Babelfish got their website back up and I was able to translate the page at abebooks sufficiently to order "Leopanther" from Germany.
hobbitblue; if you want to take a crack at the summary here it is- I may be harassing you later when I get the book in 25 to 45 business days (talk about your slow boat! well, it was cheap). You get a good idea from the computer translation but I suspect there are some subtle nuances that get lost. Anyway...
Spell check is going to love this.
