I'm reading 'A Stroke of Midnight'. I enjoy Laurell Hamilton's stuff, and I'm enjoying this one. But there's a pattern that's getting way too predictable. Here's her whole Merry Gentry series summed up.
Merry has sex with someone, which inevitably involves a lot of screaming, glowing, and so on.
Something spectacular happens magic-wise.
Random sidhe (eyes and hair color described in exacting detail): "Holy shit! We have not seen this [whatever it is] among our people in centuries!"
Other sidhe/goblins/demi-fae fall in love/lust with her, so manage to attach themselves to her somehow.
Repeat.
