So after the whole Mom thing, we tried to take it easy. We farted around the house and played D&D that evening 'til midnight. Sunday was the Initiate class, and we decided to go ahead and hold the Full Moon ritual after class since most of us were there already. Gordon had written some of it, but had a hard time getting a good lesson and working going. It was just coming across as a laundry list of qualities without tying it into anything. So I worked on it a lot of Saturday and came up with a really good (IMHO) talk about when to hold on and when to let go, a very Taurus-Scorpio dynamic. I dunno how everyone else liked it, but I was hard-pressed not to bust out crying when I was reading it. Maybe it has something to do with the stuff I've been dealing with in my life.

Naaaaaah.

After, we went to lunch and talked shop for awhile. Then three of us decided to visit the Botanical Gardens at Zilker Park. I hadn't been in a good while, and they were beautiful and in the more educational parts almost completely empty (stupid Americans). The weather was cool and gorgeous. It was especially nice to see the Oriental Gardens again where hub and I had been married. Ah, nostalgia. Can there be nostalgia if it's only been 5 years? Oh well. I wonder if a Japanese maple would grow well in Austin.

We all talked a lot and as Gordon drove me home we talked even more- he's been going through some heavy stuff and it was nice to lend an ear.

I love the Oriental gardens; my favorite feature is the tree that was the 'mother' of the rest of the garden and has the little plaque on it.

Yeah, I love the story behind it... I even have a little book about it I bought at the gift shop awhile back.
