I was poking through my memories and found that some were in deleted journals, or the person unfriended me so I can't see them, or whatever. So I may be doing some back-ups. Here's a pithy post by

// evolution : This is your life. /
Several of you might think this post was written directed at you. If you do, then I guess it was, in one way or another. It was originally written to myself, years ago. I figured, what the heck, why not repost it, since I stumbled upon it?
So you got everything you asked for,
And you're still not happy.
Well, are you sure you're asking for the right things?
Happy doesn't come from out there.
Happy's not that mythical guy or that imagined job or a nicer car or the patch of grass across the road there. You can't take an airplane or a bus there, and no matter how many times you stick out your thumb you're going to wind up right back where you started.
Happy is what happens when you get so sick of all the bullshit "well I'd be happy IF"s, when you see them for the excuses you use to keep yourself in suffering. How does your dissatisfaction benefit you? What does your pain prove? Are the distractions you feed yourself really doing any good?
That stuff you're complaining about? What are you doing about it? Okay, now try answering again, without excuses. If it's bothering you, it's your problem. Do something about it. If you can't change the thing, you're still always free to change your mind. It's an ability we seem to constantly forget we posses.
If you take your wants, take your needs, and project them outside yourself, no wonder if you feel out of control! No wonder it hurts so badly when the shadows drift over the glowing heart you've projected into the fog, like a call to some archetypical superhero. Well, guess what? You are the Hercules of your own myth. So toss on your cape and get to work, because the world you've got to save is your own. The only supervillains in your head are those you've created, and as their creator, you bear the potential to know their tricks better than they do. You can't exactly kill them, nor should you. You can, however, understand them, and change your relationship with them.
Be your own father, your own lover, your own child. Take everything you thought you lost back into yourself, where it originated in the first place, and realize that you only thought it was gone because you had your eyes closed. You may not be able to control your feelings, but you can control how you react to those feelings, what you do with them. You don't have to suffer. It's okay to be happy. It's okay to change. It's okay to live your life like it's a gift instead of a curse.
This is it. Right now is as good as it gets. And it's pretty damn good, if you stop and think about it. You're alive, and everything unimagined is still possible. Now is the greatest Gift of all. Will you hang your head and drag your heels, complaining that all the fruits of being are not enough, or raise your voice in thanks and praise of all that Is? The choice is yours.
