I feel a lot more human today. I'm glad the weather's so crappy, I feel less like I'm missing out on all the fun that way. By the way, it did this because I took my car to the fancy car-washing place. That felt like unaccountable luxury; my dad always made us wash the cars so I've always hated doing it. Since I have no children to force to wash mine, and the cats can't get any higher than the tops of the tires, the car either gets washed at the gas station or goes without. But Sheena recommended a place that uses all environmentally-happy products and was locally owned, so I decided to go for a new experience. They even talked me into getting the carpets shampooed which they needed on account of several camping trips. Homer shined like the Sun, and smelled nice and clean on the inside. Just clean- they offered to stink it up with one of a variety of fragrances (new car, new leather, cinnamon, cherry, pina colada, and vanilla) but I took a pass. I may do this once or twice a year, it was cool. For you locals it's a place called the Washtub on 620 across from Round Rock High.
I had a headache from hell yesterday. Hub was kind enough to make me cheese- our first attempt at fondue which was pretty tasty- a mix of Swiss, Muenster, white wine, and some garlic and other spices. The headache came back right before I went to bed, and I wondered if I had a cheese headache. Hub pointed out that I had it before dinner, and it went away until almost 11- so apparently the cheese made the headache go away. Am I a cheese addict?
We watched our first batch of Netflix. First up was Shawn of the Dead- pretty funny, and they had a guy who looked just like a grown-up Harry Potter. Don't get too attached to him if you watch the movie though. Then we decided to start in on disc 1 of Firefly. When they showed it on TV they showed the episodes out of order, so they didn't make sense and the series only lasted one season (it was thought that this was no accident). They're on the dvd in order, though, and make a lot more sense. The first episode is 2 hours and sets up the characters and was excellent. It had the typical Joss Whedon sense of humor, and several familiar faces. Think, western in space. I highly recommend it.
And, I finally got the tax refund! Hookers and crack for everyone!
