Am now officially tired of people who describe their pagan flavor as "I take whatever works for me and don't stick to any One True Way tradition. Why should I be tied down?" This somehow implies that a tradition is going to hog tie face-down on a table, spank you with paddles and pour lemon juice on your paper cuts until you cry, and force you to do things that don't work. Traditions are like a language. Sure you can invent one, look at Esperanto. But if you don't want to mess with that, there are some perfectly nice languages out there you can use. No one will ever insist you use all the words whether you like them or not (e.g. "squishy") but there are rules to how to string the words together. If you ignore them, and it works for you, that's fine too. But if you get mad because other people who use the language don't understand you, then you need to be tied to a table and paddled some more.
