Okay, I don't have a filter for 'only people who've met me in person' but this is for y'all.

You've seen me, you know what I look like, as do I. But I have a, um, shall we say eclectic sense of fashion, and I've been told on one occasion that I am wearing something that looks awful on me, and been rather surprised. So after hearing several friends rave about this particular brand of make-up, I am thinking that it might be time to purchase a few things- especially considering that nothing I have is less than a year old, and some of the things I have I purchased when my husband was in elementary school.

But the hard part is deciding exactly what to get. Which means knowing what looks good on me. So, if you would, please check out this chart and definitions and tell me...

(P.S. If you chose the last option, you oughter leave some kind of helpful comment, dang nabit. And don't say clown paint; homie don't go there.)

It is so totally worth it to swallow all any preexisting negative thoughts...

and go to the Clinique counter at any good department store and let them fully diagnose you. You don't have to spend tons of money there. Maybe buy a lipstick or something, then take your color knowledge to whereever it is you're going to buy makeup.

You could probably also do this at the Mac store, whereever the heck that is.

Okay so I'm an idiot, but... the Mac store? That sells Apple computers?

Don't think floral is your thing, but interesting winter colors are a good thing. I think you could also get away with warm browns.

I usually go for neutrals/making makeup look so subtle you can't really tell unless you hang with me for a good bit of time (and know that I don't wear makeup that often)...

so, fwiw, I would go with the warm tones, but close to what looks natural. yeah, I know, I don't help much...

Okay. Havign voted, just let me say that both those sets of colors are more than a little scary.

In real life, your skin has red tones so it is better if you avoid things that have too much red in them,IMHO. But you already have an intuition about that. You have a tendency to wear blues, greens and purples not oranges and yellows.

As for make-up, [profile] contentlove has a good idea. Go let someone at one of the make up counters help you with skincare and colors that they would choose for you. Then just buy one or tow small things there. That seems perfectly fine with them. I have done it.

There is one line of make-up, Origins I think, that is made up of mostly natural ingredients, you might like that one.
