I went for my 6 months post-op Tuesday. Mr.Gyno was brisk as usual, happy to hear that I was another successful hysterectomy story. He did a bit of poking and groping as expected and sent me on my way. I have gained a few pounds; this is most likely a combination of the fact that I eat more since I’m not doubled over with cramps for days at a time, and, you know, the holidays *wince* On the way out, I noticed that the hospital where he has his office was holding a scrubs sale, and I found a wonderful shirt that I had to have. The print is a bright green leafy background with various bright-colored lizards peeking through the foliage. I wore it to work yesterday, and had 2 people remark on it (and most people don’t notice me) and hub even stepped back blinking when I showed it to him. Scrubs can be even better than tie-dye and Hawaiian shirts for eye-searing colorfulness.
I also asked after the notion of being a peer trainer at work, which doesn’t get you squat for extra money, but it gets you off the phones and I’d be teaching, which I enjoy. It seems they want people with good stats who work full-time, but they’re desperate enough that they might consider someone with average stats who works part-time. Eh, it’s a change.
Today, we’re thinking of visiting the idea of buying a toaster oven. Hub thinks they’re the cat’s ass and we’ve been enjoying bagels more lately, so why the hell not. The bagels at Costco are cheap and delicious for breakfast or for sandwiches. Speaking of Costco, he used some of the dried shiitakes purchased therein to make a delicious thick shiitake and rice soup last night. Tasty!
