I woke up early again, so I poked around on the internets until I was cold and went back to bed to doze for a bit. One of my favorite things about hub is that when I put my clammy carcass in bed next to his, even when he's asleep he snuggles up to me to help me warm up. I don't think he even knows he does it. We woke up together in a nicely carnal fashion, and he puttered downstairs while I read my book. When he came up for a visit we decided to go out for breakfast, and that Trudy's and their breakfast buffet had been deprived of our presence for far too long. Their migas were especially vegetabley and delicious, and I was also craving cereal which we never have at home, so I had some of that too. It was splendid.
Sheena arrived at noon, and we went to the Vortex to see the reading of the Persephone play. It was fabulous. The music was fine if occasionally hard to make out (they had all the songs on a cd so the actors would just stand and stare meaningfully at whoever they would've been singing at) but the dialog was really great. It was a nice thoughtful twist on the Persephone myth. One of the writers (the guy I will always just think of as 'Dagda' because he played Dagda in 'Holy Well') said that it was going on stage next year, and I have very high hopes for it. He also asked us (as in Sheena and I) with interest to critique it; Sheena had some constructive criticism and I had less, but still put my .02 in.
Content was there; it's always neat to see her. She said my hair was 'big' and that she thought people with curly hair should all have big hair. That was good to hear, since most people view my hair fearfully. It's kind of like when hobbits go to Dallas. And coming from Content, someone I almost have hero-worship of. To quote 'Futurama', she rates at over 500 mega-fonzies.
The casting was excellent. The guys who played Zeus and Hades were just made for those parts. A couple of others, especially Hermes and Demeter, didn't look like their parts but when they opened their mouths, erased all doubt in my mind. Persephone was a little, oh, fluffy but still fine. Bacchus and, er, the guy Demeter tried to hitch Persephone up with (some polysyllabic Greek name that I'll never remember) were cute and fun to watch. I think my favorite was Hades though; he had dark and intense down beautifully. Sheena and I were both drooling a bit. I am really looking forward to seeing this play when it comes out.
After that Sheena was hungry and we went to a place nearby that I'd never heard of (Hoover's, I think?) which Sheena said makes Threadgill's look like McDonalds. I still wasn't hungry, but enjoyed the chance to spend more time with Sheena. The more I know her, the more I appreciate having her in my life.
Next we came back here and chatted a bit more, and she headed home. Hub and I decided to take advantage of the fine weather and do some frisbeeing at the Duval park. After hitting the tree for the umpteenth time I gave up and we walked around the park instead, almost getting lost in the woods and having to deal with deadfalls and pit traps and giant spiders. We won through, though I was a bit sweaty. That park is really terrific, and we seem to find something new in it every time we visit.
We decided to do a bit of shopping at Costco, and did the standard "Wow, look at that big (container) of (food/items)!" exclamation many times. I don't know why it's so exciting to buy 500 multivitamins for $12, but it is, I tell you! And a bag of chopped and dried shiitakes the size of a freaking sand bag for $8. I even got some blueberry cereal with Paul Newman's head on it, so it has to be good. It even has clusters! By then I was getting hungry so hub offered to buy me a Hebrew National Polish sausage (yes, that does too make sense) and we had quite a pleasant humble dinner with amusing conversation. I was feeling pretty pooped so we headed home.
I've cleaned the kitchen, Bolt has had his monthly subcutaneous fluid injection, and hub's going to teach me how to play 'Settlers of Catan.' Happily it looks like I've dodged getting an ear infection, too. I'd say it was a day well spent.

Yeah, weren't they just? They're also rated as the two guys every woman in that room (and probably a couple of the guys) would most like to stuck on a desert island with. Dear. God. ;))

Awe! Me, too. I'm enjoying getting to spend more time with you. I'm so glad we went to the play reading. It was excellent. I completely agree with your comments. Hades was yummy and Content was just awesome!
