Yesterday I decided to visit Phil and get a haircut- he offered me a freebie for my birthday. By the way, he's going to be moving to Topaz soon if you are inclined to visit. Anyhoo, we got to talking and he had wanted to see how I'd look with straight hair, not a permanent technique but with a lot of Biosilk spray and a flat hair iron. Since we were already messing around anyway, I asked how hard it would be to put in highlights the color of the 2 dozen or so red hairs I already have and the answer was 'not hard at all.' It involved putting a plastic cap on my head with a grid on it, and him sticking a crochet hook where all the lines intersected and pulling some hairs out. And it wasn't stinky, either. Anyway, here's the result:

I think it's interesting, and having straight hair is certainly novel. I don't know that I want to shell out to have this done permanently (as permanent as doing anything to hair is) but I am happy with the color. Hub loves it. Kirby thinks it's a little Stepfordy, but said she liked it too.
