I got my first birthday present the other day. There was a really cute figurine of a witch with a black cat that I fussed over, and hub bought it for me. I also got a little stuffed black cat in a post-Halloween sale. That makes... 4, now, I think, which probably qualifies as a collection. Stuffed black cats. Whoever saw that coming. At least it's not unicorns.

They closed the time for requesting new shifts on Friday, so I'd hoped that I would hear something when I came to work today. Hoped, but not expected- the state doesn't tend to move very quickly. I did get an email telling me to move to another cubicle right away, and that was sent Wednesday. The pessimist in me is worried that this removes the advantage I previously had in requesting that shift, but the optimist realizes that since our shifts overlap on Sunday, I had to get out of there and it's not uncommon to have to move several times when this sort of thing's going on, so it at least doesn't mean anything bad (as in, she won't be getting the shift so let's move her).

So I spent all morning moving all my crap to a new cubicle about 20 feet away. I had managed to keep that cubicle since I started, so there was quite an accumulation. A lot of it was pretty dusty too. Bad things- not as close to a window, right under an a/c vent, sharing a length of desk with another, not as close by to Kirby. Good things- less direct light, the guy who's here on my days off seems like less of a slob, and I'm away from the very loud person who sat directly behind me in my old cubicle. My fervent hope is that I'll be packing up to move again in a week or so, but if I end up here I think I can be okay with that.

I feel all kinda achey today. Sitting directly under that a/c vent may be contributing. Maybe I just need some caffeine.

Hey, now. Watch it.

I don't tend to collect stuffed white unicorns but I do have two. I do however collect black unicorns, so long as they're not TOO cutesy.

*snork* It was more of a dig at the fluffy sparkly pink unicorn phase a lot of girls (including, it's true, me) go through. Not the ass-kicking unicorns, such as you prefer. Wow, this is turning into a whole post. Please stand by for unicorn-related woll-gathering.

Yeah, I'll admit that as a girl I did go for the white sparkly ones, but even then I'd like to think I had some amount of taste. I prefered the tapestry type unicorns to the 'my little pony' looking ones.
