I went to the chiro and got my back mashed (boy did it need it) and to my regular doc just for grins. Turns out I was running a 101° fever. Yes, it's a 'viral upper respiratory infection', aka a cold. So here I sit, slurping chicken soup and chewing vitamin C tablets. I want to get this down before Friday.

We're planning to head to Houston and spend a day or two, explore the museum, maybe eat at a nice restaurant or something. Just getting out of town. I'm looking forward to it. I feel better already.

I also got the name of the liquid soap my doc uses. I don't much like any of the stuff I've run across so when I realized that this stuff both smelled pleasant and didn't dry out my skin, and was anti-bacterial, I ordered some. It's called AloeGuard, if you're curious.

My Dad just sent me the most wretched pro-Bush glurge; a video about a girl that was bummed about 9/11 until she met W and her heart was filled with hope because he's such a strong leader and shit. What a crock. I sent him the Jesus ad I posted a couple of days ago, but I don't think I've heard the last from him. Hopefully I will soon have heard the last from W however- the Electoral Vote Predictor has Kerry ahead today. BTW, if you can point me at any clever anti-Bush stuff, I may be called to use it.

Early voting's started. I'll probably go tomorrow.

Oh- speaking of politics, how about a very amusing short story by [livejournal.com profile] ossuarian?

While I'm going crazy with the links, buy something from [livejournal.com profile] 5th_element. They're having some stoopid 'show retailers how powerful women are by not shopping today!' thing, which is moronic and assumes that all businesses are owned by men, or else expects women biz owners to take one for the team or something. So she's offering free shipping today. Her stuff's niiiiice too.

Time for a nap.

All I ask is that you not make AloeGuard the only soap in your guest bathroom. One time I went to a friend's house and after using their facilities discovered that both the soap and toilet paper available for my use had aloe in it. Luckily I caught it before I used the TP on my tender parts but I had to (embarrasingly) yell for them to please bring me something else. Unfortunately they had no other kind of soap so I ended up cleaning my hands with some hand sanitizer I had in my purse.

We have about a zillion bars of various kinds of soap, so there will always be an alternative. :)
