The Yule ritual went well, though it was a bit more sparsely attended than I would have liked. But the people that did show were in high spirits, and I enjoyed it.
Gordon took my picture to send to a pagan soldier he adopted who lives in Germany. I look fat. Ugh. Need to start getting me some kind of exercise.
Prezzies have been good- Dad-in-law got me a Misty book, dvds of Robin Hood (the Disney cartoon) and Princess Mononoke, and a Vangelis cd that was the first ambient record I ever bought, about 20 years ago.
Dad gave me some money (always fits) and unloaded some aluminum and glass furniture that doesn't match their decor anymore. There's a coffee table and 2 end tables. The glass in the coffee table is chipped a bit, but otherwise it's fine. More space to collect crap on!
Eric gave me a whole bunch of Waveform cds, and this kick-ass bird feeder that's a clever arrangement of two stainless steel bowls separated by a spring, and insists that it's squirrel proof. Huzzah! He knows how frustrated I am when I fill up a bird feeder and have the thieving rodents repeatedly stuffing all the seed they can into various orifices, scaring the birds off, and making me have to refill the thing daily, when it usually feeds a zillion birds for many days before the rodents find it. Feh. But no longer! We'll see how well it works.
It's been bitchy day at work. Callers have been pissy, and my boss snapped at me when she got stressed and I happened to ask her a question at the wrong time. Bleah. I work only 8 hour shifts for the next 2 days, and I am hoping people will think we're closed and save it for another day. It's a 16 hour work week, and I've already put 10 hours in so I just need to put in 3 for both shifts and hopefully they'll send my ass home. On July 4 I got about 4 calls the entire day. Blessed Fortuna smile on me!
