This is much more informative than those quizzes, right? My results at the allergy clinic:
BP: 132/69
Pulse: 65
Respiration: 12
Temperature: 98.5
Skin Test (results are wheal (the bump part)/flare (the red part) measured in millimeters)
Cockroach: 1/2
Cat: 1/2
Dog: 0
Dust Mite: 13/32 (with pseudopods! meaning, the bump had extensions and wasn't perfectly round)
Pecan: 0
American Elm: 1/2
Alternaria: 1/3 (I don't know what this is. It sounds like a band.)
Hormodend.: 0 (I don't know what this is either, but I think they said it and the next one are molds)
Helminthosp.: 1/3
Bermuda Grass: 4/7
Johnson Grass: 4/7
Rye Grass: 8/26
Mountain Cedar: 6/10
Live Oak: 4/6
Ragweed Mix: 1/4
Western Ragweed: 0/4
Marsh Elder: 4/6
Cedar Elm: 5/12
Negative: 1/2 (this is the control; it's just water)
Positive: 11/45 (this is pure histamine, which everyone is allergic to)
So, if it's in the Ogham tree alphabet, I'm allergic to it. However, I'm barely allergic to ragweed, which I thought everyone was allergic to. I'm making money off my cedar (ashe juniper, technically) allergies this go around, but could also qualify for dust allergies or rye, which I had no idea I was allergic to at all. $50 each visit for 4 visits, and I just have to keep track of my symptoms. Oh, and take drugs. Oh, and stop taking Saint John's Wort, which I take as a maintenance kinda thing. I'm hoping I can keep it together for a month though this is a bad time of year to be dicking with it... I also didn't realize SJW had antihistamine properties. Well, you learn something new every day. By the way, if you're in Austin and want to participate, let me know. I could get a referral bonus!
Caitlin got spayed today. I took her to the nearest vet that does the Maddie's Project discount- they said that spays are usually $55 but with the coupon only $30. I thought about canceling 'til after the holidays (I'm really broke) but I went ahead. Then they stuck me with another $30-odd for 'physical check-up fee', since they wanted to make sure she was OK for surgery. This is fine, but since I didn't get the impression I could've opted out of this, they might have mentioned it as part of the price. Now I have $5 in the bank.
I'm holding vigil tonight, which I do every Yule. I stay up all night on the longest night of the year, cheering for the Sun and encouraging him, then welcoming him when he rises. So, hey y'all, I'm up 'til 7:24am- give me a ping if you want.
