Oh, hell. Can't sleep. Fuck fuck fuck.
I guess I might as well entertain the world with commentary/points of interest to accompany hub's Table Chronicles from the previous entry.
1. Note hypno-rug with matching throw. Also note crappy furniture that was all found or given to me. Also note cute kitten on the light blue couch lunging for something on the end table. Also note the round white things the table legs are resting in- those are caps from Juicy Juice jugs.
2. One of the cute things about hub is how he can surprise me. Those adorable pillows with the little hearts on 'em? Those were his. I remember visiting him before we started shacking up and spotting them among the guns and pointed sticks and stuff and being very amused.
3. Hub in his typical 'manual labor' attire- the Utilikilt. He says it's nice to have things airing out down there when he's breaking rocks in the hot sun. I think he looks smashing; he made a run to a Home Depot and ran into a fellow that admired the kilt and said that he had one, but his girlfriend 'wouldn't let him wear it.' Forsooth!
4. See those verticle blinds there in the back? I hate them. Hate them, I tell you!
5. Yes, he really did stain that wood trim with old tighty-whities. Maybe we should've left them out there for the solicitors to stumble upon.
6. I was feeling really poorly and was asleep on the couch. So that brownish tribble looking thing is my head. Did you know that pennies make excellent tile spacers? Sure you did. I thought that was an excellent screen capture of Doctor Evil too, by the way.
7. That angus diet guy can just go to hell. Say, did I mention we found that dark blue loveseat in a dumpster? It wasn't even stinky or anything.
8. What isn't stated is that the initial plan was to use caulk instead of grout, but the tiles were close enough together that it turned out to be nearly impossible to get a decent-looking bead. We found this out after taping every single line on that table. I think the blue grout actually looks a lot better than caulk would've anyway.
9. Note the home-made cat tree in the background; it's actually holding up pretty well considering how much abuse it's taking from multiple cats. And in the far background, a sackful of crap! Okay, it was from cleaning out the litter box, and it wasn't there for very long before it was taken out to the garbage, really. You can also see in this and others where we've painted random walls in bright colors, which is one of the fun things about owning your home.
10. Where the trim joined up- there was a white line of glue that hub colored with a blue Sharpie to nice effect.
11. This is taken from the second floor balcony looking down. Incidentally this is the room where we have rituals, when they're indoors.
12. Here's our whole living room. You can see how clutter tends to migrate. Wow, I really need to neaten up the fireplace area. And clean the ceiling fan. The bluish blob that appears to be dangling off the fan is actually a big ball of wadded-up painter's tape a bit larger than a basketball. Anyone want it?
Okay, I'm going to try to get some sleep now.
