Thursday I got my paycheck deposited, and was very good about writing all my bills off for the month (the ones I'd gotten so far). Gordon took me out to lunch for no particular reason. Then he came by later that evening and we went to Natural Magic for a 'hooray for gay marriage' ritual. It was very, well, free-form and not to my personal taste- but I know that not everyone is as fond of structure as I am in ritual space, and the intent was definitely there and I'm all behind that.

Yesterday I woke up and started working on the Full Moon ritual for that evening, and finished it up just in time to dash off to Seton for my pre-op stuff. They asked if I wanted to pay all my deductibles and co-pays right up front but I declined. They took my blood and pee, and told me to show up sans jewelry, tampons, or food in me from after midnight the night before at 6am sharp. Seems early, says I, since the operation's not 'til 10... they said 'no, we show it as scheduled for 7am'. They assumed he moved it up since it's such a quick procedure so the ladies after me getting stuff done wouldn't have to wait as long. It made sense, and I'll be just as happy to get it done that much sooner. Then I went to the doc and gave him some pee (I wonder if he will continue making me take pregnancy tests after the hysterectomy- he was the one who tied my tubes so I'd say it's likely) and gave him a chance to grope me one last time. He showed me where my incisions will be (belly button, pubic hair line, and one over each hip bone- none more than 2cm across) and reassured me once again. I feel ready.

I decided I had enough time to hit Hippie Hollow before ritual. I had not been since last year due to the rain, and I won't be able to swim for 2 weeks after the surgery so it was time. Wow, the lake had really come up! I knew the rain had filled it up but seeing the difference in the water level was amazing. As soon as I got there I swam out to the buoys which was pretty tough; there were a lot of boats on the lake and people were doing their usual drive-bys of the park trying to see the naked people (@@) so the water was rough. But I managed and then swam back and kind of just paddled around near shore and looked at all the pretty fishies. I saw some cute little silvery fish that looked a lot like neon tetras, and saw one great big carp looking fellow who was at least a foot and a half long. I dried off and headed home, arriving just in time to set up for the ritual.

It went really well, though it ran pretty long so we ended up going for fast food after. I was exhausted and got a good night's sleep in and woke today to do some yard work. We mowed, edged, and dug up places for the lavender and a mountain laurel I'd bought awhile back. We also cleaned up some of the last of the fence repair stuff and generally neatened up the place; I think it's coming along quite nicely. It was still hotter than hell and we enjoyed a nice dip in the pool. Then Gordon took hub out for celebratory lunch (for getting permanently hired) at Manuels, a nice interior Mexican food place. Next we explored a newly-opened game store. Hub bought Scrababble as we call it (Scrabble with a bigger board and more letters) and a little d10 made of hematite for me. Awww! We were both sleepy so we took a nap after some happy afternoon shagging. Now it's time to get ready for dinner with Bob and his family at Zorba's, so later!
