I guess I haven't posted in a couple of days. LJ was still slow, then I realized everything was slow and hub discovered the router was on 'ludes and adjusted it so that it wasn't. Hooray fast interweb!
Let's see... Wednesday I do believe I ended up doing a big steaming pile of nothing, which was nice. Oh, I did go to the bank and drop off the checks and money from the Pope's fundraiser (check out here if you'd like to help, or there's a link for the mundanes here) and we went to see the new Harry Potter movie. My take- it was good. It's been long enough since I've read the book or seen the other movies that I didn't notice the continuity errors ('oh, a bridge! That's nice.') and I don't think I would have even noticed how they were in 'street clothes' for most of the movie if I hadn't heard so many people were irked about it. I guess I'd make a really bad fashion designer. I don't tend to notice clothes unless it's tie-dye. I guess I could be a tie-dye fashion critic. I still contend that Tara Thrall makes the best looking tie-dye, but her business sense is for shit. I had 2 different people try to order me stuff and her website dropped the orders, and she denied that there was anything wrong with the site. We also ordered a large item from her in January and it still isn't here. We got a letter about a month ago (after some prodding) and she said 'we're working on it; we've had personal problems!' Well, we still don't have it- and while I understand how shit happens, it's usually bad form to wait to tell your customers until they get so mad they write you a 'where the hell is my order?' letter before mentioning anything. Pfft.
Oh, Harry Potter. So, yeah, good. I liked Buckbeak a lot- he was really believable. And pretty! I want one. The new Dumbledore was fine; he seemed a little more spry than the other one. The new Malfoy, however, stunk. The actor was fine, I guess, but he seemed a lot less threatening. It was probably more the script than the actor, but I seem to think he should have been a lot more menacing; Harry and them should've been a lot more evenly matched. But no, every time anything happened, Malfoy and goonfriends runn oft crying. They were yeller.

He can make trouble for Harry because he's Snape's pet and his father is well-connected, but there's nothing intrinsically scary about him. He's the archetypal bully - as long as he feels he's working from a position of strength, he'll be really horrible, but as soon as he feels the tide turn against him, he runs off with his tail between his legs.
