yansa might say, th3 p00px0r3d. I woke up at 6am to a voice in my head saying "Mom's not ready" so I listened to it and got on the road. The movers were due to arrive at noon. I got there around 9, and she was indeed not ready. She also got mad at me when I complained, and I said "Look, I'll be all supportive and nice later, but for now, if you want it, it has to be PACKED so where do we start?" Fortunately, Brö and his sweetie took the day off and came to help as well. We were still packing and had to do some remedial packing when the movers showed up (they didn't want things in drawers, the pictures needed more layers, etc) and managed to get it wrangled so that probably most of her stuff got on the truck. I double checked with all her utility companies to make sure she had shut-off notices for everything (answer: no, but she does now) and oh, did I mention her air conditioning stopped working yesterday so it was 178 degrees in the apartment? I think it's a sign. Brö and Tom were able to drive Mom to their place, where I will pick her up tomorrow around noon to make the 2pm flight to PHX. I think (I hope, I pray) that the hard part (for me) is over. Mom seemed in fairly good spirits, if tired.
