It's been rainy, stormy. Cloudy is boring and depressing, but stormy is great.
I find it interesting that a lot of anti-Bush people are heaping such vitriol on Ralph Nader. I also wish he wasn't running, and I think his message is going to be completely ignored with this gesture, and I can only guess at his motivations. However, it's still a good message, and I'm not sorry I voted for him in 2000. I don't believe people who voted for him gave Bush the election- a lot of people who voted for him had said they hadn't planned to vote at all. And even if he did, I live in Texas so a realistic look at the electoral system (which indeed sucks and blows) shows that any non-Bush vote I made was equally pointless. Anyway. Vitriol, Nader... you'd think that said heapers would spend more of their energy trying to convince possible Nader-voters to vote for their candidate. Nader-leaning folks doubtless feel pretty damned foreign and disenfranchised and alienated and all that stuff already, bashing on Nader just gives them one more reason to feel like the underdog and cling together against the enemy, who is now the Democrats in addition to the Republicans. This sort of petty bitching and name-calling does nothing for the Dem's cause; it's certainly not going to win them any converts, and that to me is what they should really be focusing on.
