My left shoulder pain persists, though it's doing okay today. I went to the chiropractorb on Friday and she really mashed on it a lot, which put me in quite a bit of pain for the rest of the day- but it's improved since then. I hope it continues to improve. Friday was errands day; I bought a few things and had lunch with mother-in-law. She said she wishes I would come by more often; she is a very classy lady of the type that gets manicures and has her hair done every week, so I always wondered how she felt about her son marrying a hippie slob- but it continues to surprise me that she actually seems to like hanging around with me. Because we both robbed the cradle, I happen to be almost the same age as the person she's shacked up with- I think that creeps hub out a little sometimes. Heh.

We ate at a Chinese place I'd had fond memories of, but they were really off their game. Their honey chicken had no veggies at all, and their eggroll even had a bunch of meat in it. I was trying to go light on the animal flesh, but had no luck. When I wailed about my lack of veggies, MIL gave me some of her veggies which I thought were shredded broccoli stems or peppers or something, but ended up being like french-cut celery. Celery is the one veggie I cannot stand in any form. China Wall of Round Rock, you are fired! Conversation was good though.

Brenda came over after and we watched some Futurama. I showed her my favorite 'Tales of Interest' episode and she laughed at the same spots hub laughs at in that episode- namely when giant Bender falls on and crushes the Hanson concert, and when Nichelle Nichols and Gary Gygax hold Fry down and Stephen Hawking tries to kill Fry by repeatedly running over his head with the wheelchair. My favorite line in that episode is when Nichelle Nichols says something like "This is one problem we can't solve with murder- and killing's all we're good at!" It was also amusing to hear the director's commentary when they talked about how much Al Gore got into his role. When the universe was destroyed and he was sucked into the vortex, apparently he really got into the scream when he was doing the voice-over, and flung himself onto the couch at the end of the scream. It's hard (yet funny) to imagine Al Gore doing this! When Democrats use their screaming powers for good. *sigh*

That evening student came over and completed his testing for Initiation, and passed! He really kicked ass, and I was really proud of him. I like doing the testing in a discussion format rather than a data-dump format. It does make it take a lot longer, but it's a lot more informative for everyone involved. He will start his fast next week, and if everything goes well will Initiate on the Full Moon in March. Huzzah!
