At last- the holiday has past. This one seemed a little more stressed than most, but overall things went well. I got home from work a bit late (around 5pm)- after a day of few calls of consequence there was a really tough one right before I left that sapped some of my energy. I pinged Brö to tell him I was running a bit late, but there was no response and I wanted to get on the road. I rushed home, and he and Mom had already showed up so I had no time to myself. I can usually handle it, but for some reason it wasn't happiness yesterday. Also, I had figured that hub was going to have food prepared for when everyone arrived, and he figured he'd have it ready when we usually ate, which is about 8pm. So various timing and miscommunications made things rough at first, but they got better. Brö liked the stuff I got him; Mom liked the stuff I got her (especially the picture) and hub and I liked our stuff fine. I got some dvds and a couple of gift certificates.
Also Kirby came by and dropped off some very neat things- an Ent (a reference to this entry- he's not just action sitting Morpheus, he's an action tree!), a gorgeous blue silk scarfy thing and a chunk of rock that had some stunning blue fluorite crystals in it that were about the same color as the scarf. Kirby is the best gift-giver.
Dinner was pretty good, as usual Brö bolted soon after (though it was late, and he said he had a good time) and Mom went to bed fairly early. Hub and I stayed up a little later just talking about everything and watching an specially interesting Good Eats on tea. I got up around 7am to see Mom off, and returned to bed until almost noon. I felt my shoulders lowering below my ears for the first time in a long time- or it felt that way anyway. Next year- more relaxing.
