Hub's birthday went nicely. I was able to talk my boss into letting me leave a little early, so we decided to go to Zorba's. I got all tarted up and we had a nice meal. It hadn't occurred to me right away that it was also the 6th anniversary of the first time we made the beast with two backs... if it seems like I didn't hold out that long (less than 2 weeks) it will amuse you to know that it would have been even shorter except that I'd had to refrain since I was in recovery from being spayed.
Anyway, we called friend Stephen on the way home- he didn't want to dine with us because he's starting his fast for Initiation, and Bob was out of town. Stephen showed up soon after, and we opened a bottle of mead and had some leftover desserts from Thanksgiving (the fast is a little flexible in this regard, fortunately). We watched Adult Swim, which was very surreal and silly (as I recall) and had an enjoyable time.
The mead, as you may recall, was bottled a couple of months ago. I wasn't too happy with this batch- I recall there being some problems with the fermentation, and it didn't seem as alcoholic as it should have been. It was almost too sweet, and while I like sweet meads, it just didn't seem to have any bite to it to offset the sweet. But eh, it's drinkable.
It's a new month... I have new headphones at work (which I like a lot), a favorite artist has started a new web comic, and I feel like it's a fresh start in some ways that my consciousness hasn't quite grabbed onto yet (that has nothing to do with headphones or comics).
