Yeah, yesterday was buy everything for T'giving dinner day. Okay, it wasn't a day-long job, but jeebus it sure felt that way. It wasn't long before my introverted side kicked in and I started hating all people. We did manage to stay below my estimated guess of $125 (just barely), and should have a good spread prepared.

Bob pinged us when we got home and suggested we have tacos at some place in south Austin whose name I don't recall; it was Amy's Taco something. Hut? House? Extravaganza? World? Who the hell knows. They were fairly good tacos, and they were way cheap and there were many hippies eating there. It was cool; I wish north Austin had more places like that. Plus, the weather was really nice. Bob was in a hurry to get to the Flipside town meeting (apparently the theme for next year's event: Glitter Monkey Rodeo. Whatever) but we dragged ass... finally we dropped him off and went to see Brö's new entertainment system.

It's a big ass TV with a shiny new thing that had many buttons and lights, plus speakers everywhere. He was quite proud of it, and showed us the cool parts (his call) from Fantasia 2000, the Lion King, Two Towers, Spirited Away, and a couple of others. They'd also rented out some game that involves Mario and driving around crashing into bananas or something, so hub played that. I was ready to bail and suggested we Fud.

To Fu means to visit the Chinese place right around the corner from Brö's place called Wan-Fu. They have great food, so they are a great place to Fu. But I was developing a major headache; I thought it might be from lack of caffeine (forgetting that the HEB we shopped at had my favorite tea- Sweet Leaf honey and mint; huzzah!) so I wanted to get the Fu to go. But hub pointed out it was a long drive, so we dined in. It was quite tasty- though I had something happen that happens once in a blue moon- sweet stuff wasn't tasting good. Instead of the usual honey chicken I got cashew chicken- which turned out to be wonderful. By the time I got home, though, I had developed a major head-splitter, which I think upon reflection was caused by the weather change. I gulped some naproxen and went to bed.

This morning the temp went from 65 or so at sunrise to about 45 by 11am, so we bundled up for the Empty Bowl project. There was still quite a line, but it was hub and I and friend Brenda, and we had a good time chatting and people-watching. Hub actually found a couple of bowls he liked, I found a nice one and picked one out for Gordon. I got smoked portabella soup and hub and Brenda got cheese soup, and we headed for the tent. It was packed solid, though, so we just went to the car and ate there. I'm sad to say that my soup was pretty yucky. I love mushrooms, but this was just way overly spicy and bitter. The cheese soup tasted kind of like queso dip in soup form and I was jealous. But ah well, it was all for a good cause. Since I'd taken the first half of my shift off and there was plenty of time left, I spend it screwing with the pool since the Sun came out and the weather turned fairly pleasant (though I understand it's gonna get really cold tonight) until I had to go in. It's been a slow shift, spent mostly screwing with our new computers. They're all cool and black and stuff, though the keyboard seems cramped and I'm not typing as well- which sucks! Sucks, I tell ya! I'd left hub on a major cleaning tear- he was rearranging everything in the cupboards and pantry, which should make things much easier to get at.
