The batteries on my mp3 player just went paws-up, so you're getting more Friday Fives.

9/5
1. What housekeeping chore(s) do you hate doing the most?
hmm, I dislike them all pretty equally; I guess cleaning the cat box is pretty high on the hate list.
2. Are there any that you like or don't mind doing?
I like feeding the fish. They try to eat my finger, which amuses me. I will go on a tear and pick up clutter every so often, but it's more like I feel driven to do it rather than I actually like it.
3. Do you have a routine throughout the week or just clean as it's needed?
more or less as needed. On ye olde Myers-Briggs scale, this is where I'm still a P rather than a J, if that makes sense.
4. Do you have any odd cleaning/housekeeping quirks or rules?
Odd is in the eye of the beholder; I like the bed made, but hub doesn't understand why ("we're just gonna mess it up again!")
5. What was the last thing you cleaned?
the kitchen counters... hub is a messy cook. But most of it's from scratch, so I ain't complaining (or yearning for the days when my dinner came out of a single box in the microwave)

9/12
1. Is the name you have now the same name that's on your birth certificate? If not, what's changed?
It's the same
2. If you could change your name (first, middle and/or last), what would it be?
I might change my first- Stacy- to something less, er, bimbo sounding (but what, I know not). I like my middle name (Michelle) fine, and have gone by it when a co-worker or classmate shared my first name. I've thought about changing my last name from it's inevitably mis-spelled German current version to the much simpler English translation: Hunter.
3. Why were you named what you were? (Is there a story behind it? Who specifically was responsible for naming you?)
My mom picked Stacy because it 'sounded pretty', and Michelle was after my god-mother, a close friend of the family.
4. Are there any names you really hate or love? What are they and why?
I get tired of people taking normal names and spelling them wrong just to be different- Jenifyr, Staceigh, et cetera, and über-trendy names that sound like car names- Dakota, Cheyenne, and the like.
5. Is the analysis of your name at kabalarians.com / triggur.org / astroexpert accurate? How or how isn't it? Well, let's see: Your first name of Stacy has given you energy, drive, and ambition, but also an almost excessively strong-willed and independent nature. While you are creative, inventive, and ingenious in practical matters, and always ready to initiate and promote new undertakings, you often experience difficulty in bringing your undertakings to a successful conclusion because of your own changing interests or changing circumstances. You become intensely involved with everything you plan to do, but the stress arising from frustrating obstacles or misunderstandings with others could prompt you to be intolerant and sarcastic in your expression, with breakdowns in congenial relations with family and friends a possible end result. Any emotional outbursts or moods would register as tension in your solar plexus, resulting in nervous indigestion and related problems. Tension could also centre in the head affecting the eyes, ears, sinuses, or teeth. True relaxation and peace of mind are elusive under this name. While seeming to focus a bit overmuch on the negative, I don't find this to be inaccurate. I do think I have less ingenuity but more staying power.

9/19
1. Who is your favorite singer/musician? Why?
Dave Matthews... spluh.
2. What one singer/musician can you not stand? Why?
Hmm. In what sense? I like Neil Young and Bob Dylan's writing, but I cannot stand their voices. People like Madonna and David Lee Roth seem to be the most self-centered irritating people, but I can't deny I've liked their music.
3. If your favorite singer wasn't in the music business, do you think you would still like him/her as a person?
Yeah, me and Dave would definitely hang out. He reminds me of several friends I have.
4. Have you been to any concerts? If yes, who put on the best show?
I've been to tons. I think k.d.lang had a really good show; she's a real ham and has a sense of humor, plus she sings beautifully and enthusiastically.
5. What are your thoughts on downloading free music online vs. purchasing albums? Do you feel the RIAA is right in its pursuit to stop people from downloading free music?
I think the RIAA stinks. I think that generally, people buy music they like- they may download it to replace lost albums (almost all the stuff I've downloaded I've had in record format in the past) or try it to see if they like it before spending the money on a CD they may end up not liking. I don't think this issue is significantly different from the issue of taping songs off the radio onto cassette, another practice I engaged in when I was younger and poorer.
