Visiting with friend Dan in San Marcos was great. We went to a fairly secluded spot on the San Marcos river, and for the first time I swam in a river with a really strong current! I mean, there were times when I was swimming my ass off and not making any progress. The river was very alive too, despite all the damn beer cans and such. There were fish aplenty and even a water snake- it swam right between Dan and hub and I as we were standing near the banks chatting. It had a beautiful mottled pattern and was at least 2 feet long. I love snakes.
We had dinner at Mamacita's, which brought back all sorts of good memories. Mamacita's originally started in Kerrville where I went to high school, and we ate there all the time. They serve a green sauce with their chips that is sort of vaguely guacamole-like and my favorite use of an avocado of them all. Much good discussion was had, and we ended up home a bit past midnight.
Yesterday was a down day for me. I woke up right after having a horrible dream where everyone hated me for something I didn't do, and just felt depressed the whole day. I snapped at hub and wept and just felt all prickly. But we went to get a couple of fish for the big aquarium and did a bit of home improvement while I prepped for class, and I felt better by the evening. Class went fairly well. Today is mostly relaxing, though I will visit Kirby and attend a Full Moon open circle that one of our newer members is organizing. Maybe I'll clean the aquaria if I get really inspired, but I'm trying not to push myself today.
