Dad's had a heart attack

This is his third. His wife once again probably saved his ass, sticking nitro in him and calling EMS. He was life-flighted from the dipshit Sweetwater hospital to Hendrick in Abilene, and they are doing cath/stents as we speak, so we don't know how serious it is yet. She always seems worried when I talk to her, but she didn't seem overly-worried about this one. I know heart attacks aren't near the big damn deal they were when I was a kid, especially when you catch them early on in the process. But it still scares the hell out of me.

Elaine went to see Dad at the fancy hospital this evening- he looks a lot better. The docs at the podunk hospital gave him some 'magic pooky' that dilates your coronary arteries, so they decided they wouldn't get a good reading on the cath, so they're waiting until tomorrow to do that. He ate a gigantic meal tonight and feels a hell of a lot better. He doesn't have a phone in his room, but Elaine and my mom are going to go visit him tomorrow and update me further.

Their website has a form where you can email patients and the nurses give them the messages. I sent him one telling him how many people he didn't even know were lighting candles and praying and whatall for his swift recovery, and that R.Lee Ermey commands him to get better. Hopefully he will smile about that.
