Jun. 2nd, 2006 10:21 amEric had a rotten day at work and liked the idea of going to Alamo to see a movie. They were having a show that was a couple of hours of clips from 'educational' sex films from the 30's to the 90's. It included the silly Disney cartoon with the VD germ general giving the Patton speech to the gonorrhea and syphilis germs. There was one from the 70's where the mother catches her 12ish yo son masturbating... the camera zoomed all the way in to her face (you could count pores) and she said "I saw what was going on and I know what you were doing- that is okay and natural and I'll knock next time." Creeepy! Some serious scare-mongering stuff. The best one was the film aimed at people who work with the highly-functioning mentally retarded (or 'trainables' according to the film); that did seem to have the most no-bullshit approach. The woman writing down all the slang words for penis and having a group of retarded adults all read them off together was really amusing and strange. Service was half-assed as usual, but I got a pretty tasty salad with goat cheese.
I got a pretty good night's sleep, except for the part where I dreamt my mom died. Dad told me, and boy, it sure was a very clear dream. I remember going through a lot of emotions and thoughts and it felt really, really real. I know it will happen someday, and this was just a very small taste of it. I'm not looking forward to it.
I feel a lot better physically today, so here I am at work. It's really slow since school's out and we're not getting our usual calls from teachers. There have been no calls holding since I got here at 8am. Hopefully people are taking a holiday from beating their kids. May it last indefinitely.
