I got my work stats for April, and they sucked some serious ass. I can tell my boss is trying to be understanding, but is worried. I know this is in part because of all the crap that's been going on, but if I were to be perfectly honest with myself it's also because I have just been lazy and letting the slack get a little too much influence in my working life. I'm going to try to pull it together. As much as I bitch, I have it pretty good and don't want to jeopardize that in any way.

Okay, I know it's slow at work, but I need to step away from the hysterectomy support board. I've been scaring myself by reading all sorts of unsavory 'worst-case scenario' stories and have become reacquainted with how much I mislike the notion of being made unconscious (least favorite so far... "my doc tells me I woke up screaming in the middle of surgery but I don't remember, oh well..." that disturbs me on several levels) while strangers fiddle around with my bits. And the nausea from the anaesthesia. And the horrible wrenching pain. Okay, need to stop now.

Well, a probably not exhaustive web search has determined that people that write cute pet stories are often barely literate, filling the page with treacly glurge, irritating animated gifs and awful MIDIs of 'Wind Beneath My Wings.' Maybe I'll just look at Yuebing's site. She's Oolong the Pancake Bunny's successor, and while the author might be filling the site with glurge it's in Japanese so it looks cool.
