This was posted as a response to a friend who's feeling funky and unmotivated. It got enough positive responses that I decided to post it here.
I desperately hope this doesn't come across as invalidating. But I think a lot of people feel similarly around this time of the year; it's a time of reflection and assessment but not a great time of activity or productivity. People are starting to get antsy; spring cleaning is around the corner and decisions about where to spend your energy are upcoming. But for now, I think this time of year is Slack Time, which makes some people happy and some people feel miserable or useless because they're not *doing* something. It's something to think about, and if you can get past the Wiccan flavor check out
this perspective too.
Oh, and DH just sent me this latest Bush quote:
"Then you wake up at the high school level and find out that the illiteracy level of our children are appalling."
You really have to laugh to keep from crying sometimes.
