It's Labor Day, and I'm sitting here on an open phone line. We have this spiffy new entry system at work that went live yesterday, and everyone's trying to figure the thing out and get used to it. Calls were stacked up all day yesterday. Labor Day is always a slow call day, but tomorrow is going to be hell on a stick. They would otherwise send people home early due to low call volume, but said they didn't plan to because of the new thing. So, I'm bored. Feh. Since the supervisors expected everyone to be stressed out and to thank us for working on a holiday, they all brought snacks. Bored + snacks = Bad!
I wonder how Bob and Bean are doing at the Orfunner shin-dig. It's for all the Burning Man folks that couldn't make it out to Black Rock this year. We've been getting rained on, and when I went outside to go to work this morning around 8:30, it was like stepping into a big ol' armpit- warm and moist.
Since yesterday was quite stressful, hub made me very yummy stuffed poblano dinner and margaritas.![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
onyxlynxx got frustrated with her parental units and came over, and we watched cartoons and chatted and generally had a nice quiet family home evening. We tried to convince her to stay for Adult Swim, but she decided she was not chemically altered enough and headed home.
I woke up this morning around 5:30am and couldn't get back to sleep, which kinda sucked.
I'm starting to think about my trip to Atlanta for Autumnfest. I plan to drive up on 9/11, gonna see if I can do it in one day with help from a student who's coming along for the ride. To prepare, I'll be taking Homer in for his 75k mile whatsis. Because I am crazy, I will then walk a mile to a bus stop and see how far north I get before I get sick of waiting around. Hopefully it won't be an armpit.
