azurelunatic; she is bluuuuueeee!
I have grown tired of my job. Every day I'm just waiting for my shift to end, and for the weekend to come. We had planned that I would go part-time when we started the float biz but since the economy crapped out and Eric was unemployed for so long, we're not financially there. We won't be for awhile, either, because he's making about 1/2 what he made before the dot-com crash. It's enough to live on, and paying off the car helped, but I'm stuck for now. It's not the grinding horror that my last job was (thank the gods) but... I'm just tired. I'm hoping maybe he gets the programming job he's gunning for soon.
Demi is visiting- she is our trad leader's son's wife. She's one of those people that has always done little favors to help out, so everyone expects it and she gets endless projects dumped on her. This and the fact that her husband has been unemployed (apparently Atlanta is worse than Austin for the techies) has caused her considerable stress, so me and Gordon bussed her out here to just chill for a week. She's a hoot; she loves to dish but usually just plays Everquest and drinks coffee. I told her it was gonna be a low-key vacation; we aren't really 'entertainers'. This turned out to be just what she needed. Now she's thinking she wants to move to Austin. Yay! One more and I get the toaster oven!
My dad's wife has been offered a huge pile of money to pass gas (she's an anesthesiologist) in Eagle Pass. She's seriously considering it; they have put a provisional bid on a house already that looks like a freaking palace. 3700+ square feet, redwood paneled hot-tub room, stained glass windows, the works. It will be fun to visit, and he thinks they can pay off all their debt and she could retire in 3 years. I'll keep my fingers crossed.
We've bought some cool DVDs. I found out that all the music videos Dave Matthews Band has done so far have been released on one DVD; yay! I love watching him sort of dance. We also bought 'Kentucky Fried Movie' and some cheap hentai. Tentacles!
(...ran a spell-check on this entry before posting it; apparently 'hentai' is not in their dictionary. That's, uh, surprising.)
