lisado has somehow managed to transfer her weird crush on Alton Brown to me- she thinks he's too old or something now. Well, she can have all of N*Sync or whoever you kids are into these days and I will take Alton. Hub just laughs. I am trying to convince him to get me this as a Litha present but he's not going for it. I mean, how cool is that?
It tried to storm this morning; it got very dark and gusty, and the storm then just evaporated. So all the humidity but none of the cool rain! Bah.
A leader of a local coven has asked me to teach her because she feels like she is lacking in her education. Without any precedent for this, I'm going to run her through the Pagan classes really quickly and then have her start the Dedicant classes with the 2 students. Initially she said she just wanted to go for solitary Initiation, but then said she might think about joining the coven. My local Elder said she was way cool so that's good to know, and I will meet her for the first time next week. I'm hoping it will go smoothly, because since she's been acting as a High Priestess it may feel weird for her to have to essentially start at square one. This should be interesting- hopefully in the good way.
The bill is before the governor- part-time status is defined as anything below 40 hours a week (I work 30), and starting September 1 the state will go from paying 100% of my premium and 50% of hub's to 50% and 25%. In other words, there will be another (approximately) $250 taken out of my paycheck each month. I'm hoping the gov. doesn't sign it but aside from that I don't think there's anything stopping him. This will suck, and I expect I'll end up having to go full-time by September, if not before then. Hub has an interview Monday... if you're of a mind, some good interview/hire the boy and pay him a wheelbarrowful of money thoughts his way would be appreciated.
Feelings around the home have been tense, but not unbearably so. We're trying to keep things positive. We went over to Brö and Tom's yesterday just to hang out. Hub has been thinking of running a D&D campaign with Brö and Tom ever since they dropped out of the Friday night group- it was just too much of a pain for them to make it up here so we'd go down there. That'd be keen. Hub's been inspired and has been furiously writing ever since we got home last night. The D&D muse strikes!
