Insurance blather... Brö works for Progressive, so he should know.

Me: Oh- what sort of insurance should I get?
Brö: Liability, 20-40-15 (or a notch or two higher ain't bad) and comprehensive/collision.
Me: none of the other crap?
Brö: Most of it's unnecessary. Uninsured/underinsured motorist is nice if the other guy's at fault and don't got insurance, but you would already have comp/coll which takes care of the damage to your car, minus a deductible.
Me: does that cover theft and robot attacks and stuff?
Brö: Yes. Collision is running into shit (and shit running into your car, occupied or not). Comp includes weather, other acts of god, theft, vandalism, dogs with bees in their mouths that when they bark they shoot bees at you, etc.
Me: LOL
Brö: Towing is nice, but you have AAA. Rental is nice, because it pays for a rental if you slam into someone else. Rental is sometimes covered under your collision in the event of an accident, tho.
Me: mah. When I get the van, we'll have 3 cars and 2 motorcycles, so we're probably covered.
Brö: You're going to keep all of 'em insured? You're not going to set it on fire while floating it out to sea? Christ knows it's earned it.
Me: I'm hoping to sell it to a Burner who will turn it into an art car. It still runs smooth as glass.
Brö: Wow. It should be the Smithsonian.
Me: :)

It's a '79 Catalina; if you go to my memories and look under 'car posts' read the first 3- I have a big long list of features, pros, and cons of this car, plus a picture of a similar car (but not mine). It runs very well- there's a good, solid, well-cared for engine under the hood, but it's just a really old car that looks like heck.

Looks like heck ain't a problem - that's *preferable* when putting together an art car. If it runs well and can pass insepction, far out.
The gas mileage is more than I'd prefer myself. Wonder how much a natural gas conversion is going for nowadays? I know you get tax credits for it.

Bark! bzzzzzzz *stings the car*
