Hub's been feeling ill. It's a bummer- when he gets sick, he gets really uncomfortable and doesn't hide it well. I feel so bad for him. :(

I still went to the play last night... 'Holy Well and Sacred Flame' at the Vortex. You may recall that they are the guys (gals, mostly) who did the Dark Goddess plays the last couple of years, which I enjoyed very much. This one focused on Brigid. Not being all that hip to Celtic mythology beyond the basics, it was fun, and confusing. It had some good mythology and intense history stuff. I expect someone more familiar with the history of Ireland would have gotten more out of it, because the depictions were artistic of course so it wasn't always 100% clear what was going on or what the characters were talking about.

But it was still thoroughly enjoyable, and I'm thinking of possibly hitting it again next Wednesday when it's a special Imbolc showing for 'whatever you feel like paying.' I will get a chance to see my new boyfriend, who has the most astonishingly gorgeous voice evar. And he looked very familiar! If I ever had seen him before, I still haven't figured out where, but I'm almost positive I have. Anyway, the program was very unhelpful in determining who this guy was (his character didn't seem to have a name and I just could go 'the younger balding white guy'- not a lot to go on) but I used my super stalker powers to discover that he is Edmund Pantuliano. The Chron said his solo was 'ponderous', but they can fuck right off, it almost moved me to tears. Hub took this news in his usual good-natured way, and tried to talk like Barry White some more. It worked, too.

There was only 2 things that were a bummer; one point where [livejournal.com profile] moonrose asked me a challenging question, and in my usual way I thought of several things and never said a word- then later realized that I was actually expected to answer her. Looking back, I'm thinking 'what an idiot!'. It's always the quiet ones. @@ Also, they shuffled everyone out after dispensing blessings and whatall, and there was still stuff going on. I'm one of those people that loves to wait until all the credits roll to see if anything happens, and to digest what I just saw before I get up and rush back into mundania. So I felt like I was missing stuff, and since it was cold everyone wanted to get in their cars and zoom off, so I had to go before I really felt ready. Oh, well.

I should go and see this some night when I am off. Sometimes the Chronicle misses the point though. Didn't the review have something to do with a fistfight, or was I just hallucinating? Anyway, I look forward to seeing it now ao I can compare my take with yours.

Yeah, that's the one. Not the best review, and not only because I disagree with the writer (I thought the 'gospel' piece wasn't all that great). Are you off Wednesdays?

[livejournal.com profile] contentlove's journal has a post about it as well, as she's the musical director. "It" being how someone else complained about being led out while there was still singing going on.

But ooh...I'm *so* with you on men with sexy voices. Thighs just don't want to work well when I'm around 'em.
