Terrific.

The ich cure I have wants me to put about 100ml in the tank, and I have about half of a 37ml bottle. So to the store to buy ich stuff.

Also I was chatting with Elder yesterday, and mentioned starting classes. She said 'oh, you should post an announcement on this one website!' so I did. Now they're all pissed because the website was a members-only kinda thing (not explicitly stated, but it was apparent enough after I dig around some), and none of them know who I am. I feel bad that I did it, embarrassed, and irritated at the same time. There were several 'and who the heck are you?!' messages today. Way for me to step all over some toes in the community. Hopefully they won't get too peeved about it; I tried to word an adequately surprised and apologetic response, and invited them to remove the post. Ugh.

Also raise the temp in your tank a couple of degrees (I think to about 79 is good, unless you have fish that won't tolerate that). It will speed up the life cycle of the ich creatures and the medicine will work faster. Good luck: ich sucks!

Thanks! The ich seems to be confined to the black neon tetras; the Buenos Aires tetras, the mollies, the rasoboras and the pleco all look unsalted. It also said to take the carbon out of the filters, which I suppose keeps them from absorbing all the goodie. My last battle with ich was uneventful- once I figured out what was going on, the medication seemed to work fine. That was the 10g though; I hope this isn't much different!

Shouldn't be: just have to up the medication level to accommodate the larger volume of water.

Have you added new fish very recently? Like, in the last week? Usually ich appears right away, although it's not unheard of for it to lie dormant in a tank and pop up later under adverse conditions.

I added a few black neons a few days before New Year's, so perhaps it was them. The neons are the ones that seem to be the worst sufferers...
