Well, that was useless. Maybe not completely useless... I went to the doc, and he said I had no infection as far as he could tell. So either I'm hallucinating, or it's allergies, or that dose of colloidal silver hub gave me last night really kicked some major ass. So doc sent me on my way with samples of a pleasantly named pill called 'Muco-fen', and a prescription if I want any more. Ah, well.
I then went to vote. Voted mostly Green, Democrat where there were no Green guys, and Libertarian where there were no Democrats. I like a lot of what the Libs say, but the 'sink or swim' attitude about the very poor and the environment turns me off a bit. Our county is testing out a new electronic voting method which worked like a charm as far as I am concerned. Assuming it's not hackable or has other problems I can't detect, I hope they stick with it.
Next, to the fish store. They had a bunch of bettas that just didn't look so hot... not that they were sickly, they were just not attractive. A lot of pale ones with blotches on them... I like a nice, one dark color betta. They had a bunch of teeny neons for a buck, but then in another tank there were 4 grown-up looking neons for $2. I decided instead on the betta to get the 4, since they looked sort of lonely. It was just as well, too, because fish lady said a lot of the teeny neons had croaked since they'd gotten them in, but the large ones she'd had for 2 weeks.
So I get the 4 home, and as I'm stuffing the bag in the water to acclimate them, I notice two things: one of the 4 is floating, and one of the 6 or so I'd already had had jumped out and dried up. Sheesh! I flushed the floater and the crispy one, and lowered the water level in hopes that this may be the reason I have so many jumpers. I think I also may need to get better filtration for the 10-gal, so I'll be looking into that.
