Bob spent the night so was right there to take TD and I to the airport. We arrived plenty early, but there wasn't much need and we ended up sitting for awhile. The plane was full, and it occurs to me that my ass is pretty wide compared to the plane seat, but not wide enough to require me to buy 2 tickets, thank the gods. Still, bleh. Oh, and we saw Local Celebrity Mark Katz, who flew coach.
At Houston we spotted this frightening statue of George I; he was striding purposefully forward and looking off into The Future, with the wind (the wind was out of The Future with a 100% chance of bullshit) blowing his necktie behind him. I so badly wanted to molest this statue for this website, but it being 9/12 I didn't want to arouse any suspicions. Which reminds me, coming into Austin my very large purse had something suspicious in it and was examined in minute detail (which took a considerable amount of time) but I'd managed to remove all the pointy objects from it.
Houston to Atlanta was unremarkable. No one met us since they didn't let non-ticket holders into the airport, but TI and Lady Branwen (LB) were by baggage. LB was her usual funny, swearing, salty self and for all that she's one of Lady Galadriel's (LG- our Trad leader, sorta like the Pope but no ring-kissing here; and before you snicker at the name, she's been Wiccan for as long as I've been alive, so shush, you!) teachers she's very easy-going and fun to be around. LG is also a lot of fun, but she can get really serious and in teacher-mode suddenly, and I occasionally felt scrutinized by her keen intellect and saw her scold people that said things in jest more than once. But she's still a lot cooler and more approachable than you'd expect of someone who bears the title of 'Witch Queen and Matriarch'.
Anyway, we got to LG's home and all settled in the living room. All the Georgia people started smoking, which sucked because I haven't been in a smoker's household since I moved away from home, and it's kinda unpleasant. TD has asthma, too, which bothered him somewhat. But we coped, and had some lasagna dinner and chatted for a good while. TI and I went to crash around 11pm, but TD stayed up to talk to Demi (who visited here last year around the beginning of September, you may recall) and Hersh. Hersh is one of those people that knows a lot about almost everything, and will tell you all of it if you let him. So TD didn't come to bed until about 2am.
We 3 crashed in LG's downstairs altar room. It's absolutely crammed full of statues, plaques, witchy baubles, and about a million bookcases all full of books on every occult subject. It's also where she teaches classes, and I had very vivid, interesting dreams there which I of course can't remember now.
neat!

I'll have to look for one in particular... there's a statue in the heart of Colorado Springs, CO that is of some Important Dude on a Horse... and a high school is nearby. It's tradition for someone from the high school to paint the testes of the horse a different color then the statue every year :D
