Bolt, my older cat (11 years old) has been acting depressed. He used to jump up on the bed with me every night and has not in several days. He also used to be very insistent about wanting a bit of fish food when I feed my fish in the morning, to the point where he was waking me up to feed the fish. But I haven't seen him in awhile. He just sleeps a lot, and doesn't purr when I pet him. He doesn't have a runny nose, or a limp, or any other signs that anything's wrong other than his behavior. I hope he's OK.
And fuckitall, this was take-the-cats-to-the-vet month, but my car has died and I don't know if I'll be able to afford it. Maybe I'll take just him at least; I'll pick up a shift or something or see if they take credit cards. :(
The rain is here, which is nice.
Student from far-away town dropped out of class due to lots of life crises; I'm not surprised but I'll miss seeing this one. Hopefully I'll still get a chance to hang out at rituals and social events.
Other student had pot-luck and a movie; nice house! We watched 'Practical Magic.' It's another one of those that makes certain people think a bunch of dumb stuff about Wiccans, but it was still a cute movie. Plus I always thought Stockard Channing was cool. I want to have hair like hers when I get old... yeah, I know it was probably a weave. Hub endured it with good grace.
I started cleaning the 55-gallon... salt, baking soda, vinegar, and razor blades had no effect. I'm trying to decide if I want to try to get a more acidic vinegar, or just cope with it since they aren't all that noticeable, and will most likely be invisible when I get the water in it. Next step: dechlorinating and pH-decreasing 55 gallons of water and setting the filters up.
