It got up to 97 degrees yesterday, but it felt like autumn. I welcome it, I embrace it, I love it. I want it to stay autumn for a long time. It's my favorite season; a lot of Wiccan literature talks about the cold, dark winter and how relieved everyone is when spring arrives... but here, fall is such a time of joy because it heralds an end to the oppressive heat and a chance to wander around outside without suffering miserably.
Obviously it wasn't really cooler yesterday, but it really felt it. Perhaps it was drier, though we're expecting rain today. The quality of the light has changed also; it seems weaker... less direct. I don't feel like squinting and cringing like a vampire every time I step outside.
What a relief. Hello, Autumn! I'm so glad to see you!
