Bob offered to cook us dinner a few days ago so yesterday I asked him if he was still willing. He'd wanted to cook us some cherry-pecan sausages he'd gotten at Central Market. I offered to go with him, and directed him to the one on 40th and Lamar. I say that, but at the time I thought that there was only one CM. Apparently there's at least one other, because he didn't recognize it when we got there and discovered that this was because he'd been in another one somewhere else!
So we found out that the other one is the one with all the fancy-ass sausage anyway, and they only had about a score of varieties at this one as opposed to the 60 or so at the other one. Bob picked up 3 different types: blueberry, pork and garlic, and one spiced with some kind of rare and very hot pepper. He grilled them up for us, and I could only eat one. I'm not a huge sausage fan, despite my German roots. I tried the blueberry, and it was tasty in an odd way that reminded you of breakfast. It was like eating blueberry syrup from IHOP on a link sausage, weird. I tried to eat half of a pork and garlic, but just had had too much at that point and was overloaded.
It wasn't my favorite culinary experience, but it was made bearable by having Bob sing 'Daddy would you like some sausage' from that wretched, awful Tom Green movie. You probably had to be there but it was really funny.
I was also rather full because I made him get dessert at a nearby store called Dr.Chocolate, which makes truly delicious treats using their own very high quality chocolate. We each ended up getting an ice cream cone while we were there. Mmmmmmmm.
It almost rained last night, but before it made it to our area the storm disappeared. *sob*
After letting dinner digest a bit we went over to Paul's and got his old 55 gallon aquarium. It needs a lot of cleaning up, but with some serious lime cleaner I think it'll be a nice tank.
Ellen will come by tonight to take my futon with her as she goes to Georgia... that way I can sleep on it when I meet her at Autumnfest. I put the finishing touches on the Ishtar-Tammuz play and am starting to look forward to the festival and get nervous at the same time. Whoooeee!
