Remember the Ribbon Dance we used to paint the computer room? I think I've mentioned a couple of times that it turned out to be too BLUE!, which probably comes as a surprise to those who know how much I love blue.
Sidenote: When Gordon came to celebrate the Blue Moon, he brought cookies painted with BLUE! frosting. Tasty. But then, I noticed that my, um, byproducts the next day were green. And I'm not talking regular poo-color with a greenish cast, I mean green like this journal. Hmmm... noted and filed for future reference.
So after some discussion and debate, we bought a can of Majestic (in the same link above) and some glaze. We mixed the glaze and paint, rolled it on, and sponged it off. Oh, by the gods, it is the most beautiful mottled cobalt blue in there now... there are a few 'seams' where we hadn't got the hang of sponging the borders at first, but it smoothed out later and is not very noticeable. I'll probably just hang pictures over where they are if they can still be seen when I get all the furniture back in anyway. But it looks gorgeous; like the night sky looks in my head; and with the sandy-tawny floor in there... *mwaah*! So very wonderful; I only wish I could paint the whole outside of the house that way!
