I went to the doctorb this morning.
I don't know where my brain was but I dicked around until I had 15 minutes to get there then took a shower (a kindly thing to do if you're going to get your nethers examined) and forgot everything else I was planning to bring- my calendar, the drugs I'd been taking, and the bill from the last time. Turns out I didn't need any of that...we talked for 15 minutes and she said we should probably try the Pill first. She gave me 2 months of freebies and a scrip for Blue Cross, and another one to get extras in case I decide I want to skip periods (which Blue Cross wouldn't pay for, which is probably reasonable). I never had any problems on the Pill in the past, and only stopped taking it because I didn't think I'd need to once I got fixed.
If those don't work, she said there was an IUD that delivers hormones directly, and there's also the option of a hysterectomy. She said that causes other problems including 'dropping of the pelvic floor'... I don't know what that means exactly but she mentioned 'bladder leakage' which is all I need to hear. They can even do it laproscopically- through a small cut in my navel and with a device that she described as looking like an apple corer which would cut the recovery time from 6 weeks down to 2. The miracles of modren science and all... but we're gonna wait on that and see if we can't get other things to fix this issue first.
