(no subject)

It seems Aggies do this thing called midnight yell practice before every game. They get as many people as they can involved in the many and varied cheers, and so there's coordination that's needed, what with hand signals and such- plus all that brotherhood stuff sport fandom engenders. JD and I almost went to that last night, since it was here in Austin, but crapped out and didn't make it. So he described it to me instead. Boy, Aggies are strange. :) Here's a conversation I had with Brö about it (edited for clarity)...

Me: oh- you know what else? There's a not-impossible chance I might be in San Diego for New Year's
Me: if the Ags win and get in the Holiday Bowl, JD's dad has been known to fly everyone out there to attend
Brö: aw, SNAP
Bröo: trip for Stacy
Me: ya, it's more likely they'll play in Dallas
Brö: Huh, well trip to Dallas then?
Me: I will get to go to yell practice then
Me: yeah
Me: and learn how to yell
Brö: I was going to ask; do you actually want to go to yell practice?
Me: in the sense that it would be an interesting cultural experience, sure
Brö: Isn't it closer to the truth to say that yell practice is a simply another in a long string of semi-terrifying aggie traditions?
Me: not because I objectively want to learn how to yell
Brö: Yeah

Brö: Hahahaha
Brö: You're going to watch the monkeys learn to communicate through shouting!
Brö: Win That Game!
